Devin graduated with a B.F.A. in Animation from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2021, having studied Technical Animation during her time at SCAD.  She is specifically interested in the area of production management for animated feature films and television.

Ms. Johnston has lived in California her whole life, originating from Mountain View, CA in the San Francisco Bay Area and heart of the Silicon Valley, but now lives with her family in scenic Lake Tahoe, CA.

 

Two pieces of Devin's artwork from when she was younger appear in the ending credits of Blue Sky Studios' Ice Age 2: The Meltdown.  She has dreamed of working in animation since she was six years old and hopes to significantly contribute to animation productions now that she has graduated from college.

Ms. Johnston is currently working as a Production Coordinator on both the Animation and VFX sides of Base Media.  She supports the Visual Development, Story, and Editorial departments at Base Animation on an animated feature film that has yet to be announced publicly.  At Base FX, she supports the VFX department on various live action television series and feature films.

​

Devin served as the Art Director and Lead Lighting Artist, as well as a
look development artist and compositor on the SCAD 2021 Senior Capstone animated short film Shift.  The film finished production in May 2021 and
is being submitted to film festivals.

​

Ms. Johnston worked on the animated short film Bearly as a lighter at
SCAD Animation Studios, which will be released soon.

She also freelanced as a lighter on the SCAD 2020 Senior Capstone animated
short film Juanion.
